  • Insightful guidance as they grow

Child development experts agree that children benefit most not only from a nurturing environment, but one that offers appropriate opportunities to develop to their fullest potential. Our emphasis during the toddler stage is on building your child’s independence and fostering the natural curiosity that toddlers possess which creates a long lasting love of learning.

With our community in mind, we offer In-person and virtual At Home with Apple Montessori options.

  • “It is necessary, then, to give the child the possibility of developing according to the laws of his nature, so that he can become strong, and, having become strong, can do even more than we dared hope for him.” ~Maria Montessori
  • Areas of focus

  • Health and safety

Your top priority is making sure your child is healthy, safe and happy. It is ours as well. Our team and the environment are prepared with that in mind.

Learning through the five senses helps children comprehend and classify the world around them.

    Respect for the child

Every child deserves respect, to be treated as an individual and to be understood.

  • Individualized learning plans

Educators guide children to develop new skills and explore new experiences in various developmental areas at his or her own pace.

    Introduction to language

Daily work with our exclusive, proven phonetic sound cards introduce children to the fundamentals of language.

    Social interaction

Children engage in group activities like finger play games, story time and music class.

  • Practical life

Meaningful activities involving care of self and the environment including feeding or dressing oneself, washing dishes, and more.

This is particularly important for toddlers who are asserting their autonomy with, “Help me do it myself.”

    Parent communication

Consistent and thorough communication, including daily emails about your child’s day, helps you stay informed and involved in your child’s care.

  • Partners in your child’s care

At all levels of toddler care, we believe that clear communications between the teacher and the parents is essential for the child’s well-being but this is particularly important during the toddler years when children reach and surpass so many milestones in their development.

We use an email notification program to keep you up to date, daily, on your child’s activities, explorations, accomplishments, and care. Teachers are well-qualified to observe and respect the individual needs and temperaments of each child.

  • Classroom

Specifically designed to provide a beautiful, nurturing environment, the toddler classroom is a home away from home. The furniture is child-sized and the materials are carefully chosen to meet your child’s developmental needs. All materials are sanitized several times a week in our state-of-the-art sanitizing machine to prevent the spread of germs. Personal items such as nap pads, diapers, and spare clothing are stored separately for each child.

A wonderful aspect of the Montessori philosophy is children get to choose the materials they wish to work, allowing them to explore their own interests at their own pace. Order provides a sense of security, so all games and materials have a specific place. Children learn to be responsible for replacing the games when finished.

  • Schedule

The daily toddler schedule is intentionally unobtrusive and provides plenty of opportunities for learning, cuddling, napping, or socializing. Children spend their day in a mix of individual and group activities. Each day includes time for games, activities, songs, stories, sound cards, art and music.

Activities such as the rice table, art easel, ball tracking games, and dish washing not only build concentration and focus, they’re fun too.  Movement is built into the day to enhance large and small motor skills, body awareness and self-control both indoors and outdoors (weather permitting).

  • Baby yoga

Our toddlers love baby yoga which strengthens core muscles and improves strength, flexibility and coordination. Through yoga, your child will develop body awareness and motor, socialization and coordination skills.

  • Baby Signs

Being able to communicate needs, feelings, and desires is important to your child as he or she strives for independence. Baby sign language is empowering plus it enhances brain development. Research shows that it helps children begin talking earlier, develop bigger vocabularies, and even exhibit enhanced cognitive abilities.

  • Food tasting

Our food tasting program helps get those fussy eaters, as so many toddlers are, to try and learn to love many new foods. Several times a week, children try new foods, first watching as the toddler teacher prepares it. Good manners are practiced as each child learns to say “thank you” or “no thank you.” Children take turns passing out napkins or plates and the entire experience is amazing to watch.

We also offer toddler-inspired art and music enrichment programs.

Full time and part time classes are available year round. See Our Locations for availability.
