    • Palvi Sharma (Rt 27): We have a new 2-year-old girl that started this week who speaks very little English. She speaks primarily Mandarin. I overheard Ms. Sharma trying to speak to her in Mandarin and telling the staff what each word meant to help them communicate with her as well. I later found out she has been using the internet to learn Mandarin and how to properly pronounce words and phrases in order to help our new student be more comfortable at Apple and provide her with what she needs. This was one of the most above and beyond moments I have ever seen and it touched me beyond words! I am so proud to have her on our team at Route 27 and I hope she is with me for many years to come.
    • Pathak (Metuchen) For being an amazing right hand, being so flexible, and for your incredible patience. Did an excellent job in taking over FasTracks as well as conducting the STEAM projects.

    Mrs. Spain (Mahwah) Stayed at the school during our first major snowstorm to assist in caring for children that remained after hours due to road conditions. She went above and beyond in assuring that not only that the children were safe in the school, but also checked on staff that had left during the peak of the storm to ensure their safety home. She also assisted other staff in digging out their cars to prepare for their trip home. She continues to show dedication and commitment to the staff and families at Apple.

    Mrs. Stark (Route 27) – Helped her staff out on the day of the snowstorm by cleaning off their cars. Mrs. Stark cleaned 4 cars all by herself and went out of her way to make sure her staff was in good hands. She is always looking out for her staff and we are so thankful to have her!
    Ms. Sammon (Towaco) – For helping with the preparations for Towaco’s Thanksgiving feasts. She did it all with a smile!
    Ms. Mitchell (Towaco) – For going above and beyond for the children of Towaco during the snowstorm on 11.2018. Ms. Mitchell stayed with the children whose parents were delayed due to the snowstorm. She fed them dinner and entertained the children until their parents arrived.

    Ms. Oganda (Mahwah) – During a very challenging Snow Storm, Ms. Oganda went above and beyond to assist other employees to clean off their cars.

    Ms. Shahid (Randolph) – Thank you for coming into work early to help out when we needed an extra hand. Your willingness to help out and do it with a smile is greatly appreciated.

    October 2018

    Ms. Arevalo (Route 27) was a true leader while the director was on vacation. She made sure all things were handled correctly and in a timely manner. The director came back to a calm organized environment with the regional director singing her praises  She also informed me of everything that happened while I was gone so I could follow up.

    Ms. Hills (Route 27) did great leading aftercare while the director was away on vacation. They handled all issues like true leaders and made sure all went well.

    Ms. Morales (Route 27) did a great job assisting Ms. Arevalo in taking care of the building while the director was on vacation. She is a great asset to Apple and look forward to her progression with us!

    Ms. Quintanilla (Route 27) did a great job leading the class in the morning while Mrs. Hanes was on vacation. She made sure the class stayed organized and well run!

    Ms. Sharma (Route 27) did great leading aftercare while the director was away on vacation. They handled all issues like true leaders and made sure all went well. Also Ms. Sharma did an amazing job running Ms. Hanes’ classroom while she was on vacation. I look forward to her one day leading her own classroom!

    Ms. Timas (Route 27) did a wonderful job with aftercare while the director was on vacation. We have a student who needs extra attention and Ms. Timas is so good with her and all the other students in aftercare.!

    Mrs. Castano (Morris Plains) She put in extra hours to help in after care when staff were out sick. She’s a great team player!

    Ms. Tiedemann (Towaco – Summer Camp) Joined us in Towaco for Cooking, Music & Dance. She was always prepared and made sure all campers enjoyed their summer!

    Ms. Chatterjee (Morris Plains) has taken over the Music and Cooking classes while another teacher is out. She runs the classes smoothly and beautifully. She is organized and enthusiastic with each group!

    Ms. LaBar-Dietz (Morris Plains) has been doing a wonderful job running lessons and planning games for the children during swim time! She has also worked very hard to maintain the pool itself.

    Ms. Migliore (Morris Plains) has been doing a terrific job running the organized sports classes! She follows through with all lessons with excitement and enthusiasm. The children look forward to attending her class each day!

    Ms. Rasdell (Morris Plains) has been working so hard on completing the STEAM curriculum each and every week! She’s been doing a fantastic job with the STEAM activities and Montessori time!

    Ms. Bravo (Woodbridge Ave): When one of our new 2-year-olds was having a difficultly getting accustomed to school; Ms. Bravo was to calm her down and get her settled into classwork. Ms. Bravo has done this with many other children and excels at it.

    Ms. Joswick (Woodbridge Ave): Ms. Joswick took over her class when her lead was away. She handled it smoothly and without hesitation, and the classroom ran seamlessly.

    Ms. Korenski (Woodbridge Ave): Ms. K has become a lot more confident when running aftercare.

    Ms. Subramanian (Woodbridge Ave): Ms. S had a half day off on 5/25/2018. She offered to stay a little longer to cover fastracks so that we wouldn’t be out of ratio!

    Ms. Sweeney (Morris Plains) – for creating a fantastic and creative affirmation board for the entire staff and for taking charge of the art projects in Mrs. Mannion’s classroom!

    Mrs. Mendez (Morris Plains) – for working so hard to ensure morning care runs smoothly. She cares for the children, restocks all the classrooms and sets up the playgrounds for the day. She always communicates with administration any concerns. Also, for planning a lot of fun games for our Olympic Day Event. She’s wonderful!!

    Ms. Amorosi’s Class (Metuchen): Ms. Amorosi, Ms. Cole, Ms. Ortega, Ms. Knaup & Ms. Seppelt (Metuchen) – for introducing the lifecycle of a plant in November 2017 by potting herbs (basil, parsley & chives). The class took such good care of them and last week they were able to harvest some and make mini pizzas!

    Ms. Diaz (Edgewater): For using her incredible photography that captured such beautiful and emotional photos during our Mother’s Day Tea. You can feel the love between mother and child in those photos.

    Ms. Roman (Oakland) – for creating fun staff boards that everyone enjoys participating in.

    Ms. Caroli (Hoboken) was spotted creating such beautiful videos for Mother’s Day that showed how much heart the children and staff put into the event!

    Ms. Martinka (Wayne) was spotted providing such helpful and informative resources for us to share with families, including an article she was quoted in for her expertise in medical emergencies (She’s a teacher AND a pararmedic!)

    Ms. Bagnato (Edgewater) Was spotted making our “We Are Apple” staff photo shoot a success!

    Ms. Pogorelec (Home office) was spotted making positive contributions, sharing so many great ideas, always being willing to pitch in and help, and having such a fun personality!

    Ms. Jones (Hoboken Sinatra) was spotted unpacking boxes of kitchen supplies during her break without being asked to do so!

    Ms. McFadyen (Hoboken Sinatra) was spotted volunteering to stay late on a night where they were short staffed!

    Ms. Vera (Hoboken Sinatra) was spotted mopping and vacuuming the hallways just because they needed a cleaning.

    Ms. Nolan (Randolph) was spotted being an awesome in Fastracks! A student was over heard telling their Dad haw the class was AWESOME!

    Ms. Rodriguez (Edison, Route 27) for doing an amazing job at teaching FasTracks. They put together an exciting experience for the children by creating a beautiful Apple Montessori store for our economics lesson. Ms. Rodriguez also took a ton of pictures for social media! They make their lessons fun for all the children!

    Ms. Lau (Edison Woodbridge) for helping to keep our school tip-top, healthy, and clean! Your dedication and teamwork are so appreciated.
