Fire Prevention Month: Tips for Parents and Preschoolers

November 02, 2016

Did you know that October is Fire Prevention Month?  Our students learned all about fire safety and prevention today.  We learned what to do and who to tell if we smell smoke or see flames.  We talked about “stop, drop & roll!”  We read a book and watched a video from Sparky the Fire Dog. Local Fire Departments visited with us to talk about fire safety and gave all the children fire hats to take home so they can be Junior Firefighters!  Here is some helpful information to create a fire safety plan at home, just like we do at school when we practice monthly fire drills.
